Hotels in Odessa

Odessa is a mood. I had read a lot about Odessa before I saw it for the first time. The writers I read must have been mad in love with Odessa, so I loved it from the very beginning. ODESSA was born on the edge of the barren land and the vast expanse of the sea. It’s a human creation; and before going there a traveller has to create the mood. Otherwise it’s difficult to grasp why the famous song goes "Ah, Odessa – the pearl by the sea". One cannot imagine Mediterranean Sea without Naples or Istanbul. Black Sea is impossible without ODESSA. Although founded in 18-th century, Odessa seems to be as old as Alexandria in Egypt. The city absorbed the ancient winds and it keeps on absorbing waves of modern nations and cultures. Odessa is a city of a strange southern magic.
May to September are the best months to visit Odessa. However, the temperatures in July and August are likely to exceed 25-26°C. In winter, the sea may freeze for a few days, and the most horrible in Odessa are the cold winds blowing from the sea.
Night trains connect Odessa to Kiev, Lviv, Crimean peninsula and other major Ukrainian cities as well as regular bus services. Austrian and Turkish air carriers fly to Odessa not to mention the local Ukrainian airlines.
